Tough luck if you are in the market for a brand new Nissan GT-R because according to the Nissan USA website, it is sold out. The status is likely because the 2021 model has made way for the 2023 model. Nissan USA has announced that the 2023 Nissan GT-R is on sale at select U.S. Nissan dealers with a starting price of US$113,540.
The 2023 Nissan GT-R is offered in a choice of Premium and NISMO. The former is powered by a 3.8L V6 DOHC twin-turbo motor that produces 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft (633 Nm) of torque and is paired with a standard dual-clutch, paddle-shift 6-speed gearbox and ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive system.
Meanwhile, the G-TR NISMO is powered by the same motor but outfitted turbochargers developed for the GT3 GT-R race car which bumps the output to 600 horses and 481 lb-ft (652 Nm) of torque.
The NISMO trim further boasts a special NISMO-tuned suspension, exclusive carbon fiber bodywork, larger Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes (16.1” front and 15.3” rear), Recaro seats with synthetic suede inserts and red stitching, Alcantara-appointed steering wheel, among others.
Whether the slight bump in power and torque and the enhanced equipment does justify the nearly US$100,000 premium at US$210,740 is for you to judge. That’s right. That’s how much the NISMO grade costs.
Anyhoo, regardless of the trim you choose, both are equipped with a Bilstein DampTronic driver-adjustable shock-absorber system, lightweight 20-inch 15-spoke forged alloy wheels by RAYS, and a multi-function display that shows vehicle performance information. GT-R also offers standard NissanConnect with an 8-inch touchscreen display featuring Apple CarPlay, a Bose 11-speaker audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Active Noise Cancellation.
I don’t believe the website did list the new GT-R. Interested parties will need to hit up your local dealer for availability.
