On October 14, Vivo took the stage to unveil the X200 series—a follow-up to its imaging flagship smartphone and a lineup that makes you wonder if there’s anything it can’t do. With three models to choose from, Vivo packs each with cutting-edge features, Zeiss-tuned cameras, and chip-tech wizardry—all for the customer who dreams of having a superphone. The three models are the standard X200 [CH], the X200 Pro, and surprised, surprise an X200 Pro mini [CH]. The latter is billed as the only Android small-size Pro class flat display smartphone. Intriguing.

The Vivo X200 Pro’s centerpiece is its massive 200MP APO telephoto lens, paired with Vivo’s self-developed image-enhancing algorithms. Using the LYT-818 sensor co-developed with Sony, this main camera brings an impressive mobile image quality upgrade.
For photographers and their captive audiences, the Vivo X200 Pro [CH] allows a 100x zoom and includes modes like Landscape, Night Sky, and even Time Lapse. For close-ups, the telephoto lens manages a 20x macro zoom with crisp detail, and there’s an additional 135mm portrait lens for that classic look. It even makes Live Photos a breeze, turning everyday scenes into motion masterpieces, primed for social media.
Powering this photographic prowess is the Dimensity 9400, a joint venture with Arm that ensures an energy-efficient, speedy performance. The X200 Pro’s V3+ imaging chip enhances 4K video with AI beautification, Dolby Vision HDR, and 120fps for slow-motion shots. For high-dynamic-range content, it brings stunning results at 60fps and 10-bit color.

The X200 series also brings a few non-phone tricks. You get a so-called kilometer-range off-grid communication with Bluetooth SOS features and a voice walkie-talkie. But its practical side shines with the OriginOS 5, which adds AI-powered search, and a Blue Ocean battery that can keep going even at -20°C (-4° Fahrenheit), paired with up to 6000 mAh in the X200 Pro for endurance at 120 Hz refresh rates and 4500 nits brightness on the Pro’s Zeiss-calibrated display.
Now, prices. The Vivo X200 starts at 4299 yuan [CH] (603 USD), the X200 Pro ranges from 5299 to 6799 yuan [CH] (742-953 USD, and the smaller but mighty X200 Pro Mini, at 4699 yuan [CH] (659 USD), offers flagship features for those who prefer a more compact design. In the end, each X200 model aims to redefine the flagship game, one Zeiss-tweaked pixel at a time.
Interestingly, someone in China has ditched the phone barely a month after getting it. This dude said his unit has an issue with glare when taking photos. This glare is a bright white-ish bar that appears during imaging. That man didn’t even give the support a chance to resolve it and has already sold it to China’s biggest electronic resale site.
