We received an email on March 12, notifying us that the Wall Mounted Display Case For LEGO 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog: Green Hill Zone was available. We proceed to write a post (this one), preparing to post it on March 13. And guess what?
We check the product page again today before going live, only to be greeted with two bold words – all caps, no less: SOLD OUT. In white, against a striking red background. Bummer.
The case by UK’s Wicked Brick was limited to 500 and it is not just any old acrylic case, btw. It is a limited edition display case featuring one-off premium features that promised to enhance the LEGO 21331 set.
The display case features a midnight black matte finish display based featuring Wicked Brick’s signature vector line detailing and has embedded studs, plus cut-out sections to firmly secure the set, characters, and gems in place.
But the real star of the show is a Green Hill Zone-inspired bespoke 3D lenticular background, framed by a gold chrome border. Completing the collectible display case is a unique product number identifier laser-etched to the base plate and a crystal clear acrylic information plaque slots into the base plate, featuring etched icons and details from the LEGO set.
As said, all 500 units have been snapped up. Unfortunately, it is a situation of if it is gone, it is gone. It is not coming back. But hey, it is good to know that there once was a collectible display case. No? The Limited Edition Wall Mounted Display Case For LEGO 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog: Green Hill Zone had a selling price of US$65.18.
