Claiming to be a “pioneer and a world leader in gimbals and stabilizers,” China-based Zhiyun Tech has dished out a new 3-axis handle gimbal stabilizer called Zhiyun CRANE-M2 that is set to give DJI Ronin-SC a run for its money. Zhiyun CRANE-M2 3-axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer is compatible with a variety of compact digital cameras and light mirrorless cameras weighing up to 1.58 lbs (717g), as well as mobile phones and action cameras. It is worthy to note that the latter two will require an optional mount.
It boasts “enhanced camera control” via Bluetooth and WiFi, “inspirational new video making modes,” 8-hour battery life, fingertip control, and an OLED display. This compact, ultra-portable handheld gimbal is capable of 360-degree pan, 310-degree tilt and 324-degree roll rotation, and offers six operation modes.
Like the Ronin-SC, its app-enabled and it further features a one-button quick release camera system, and 1/4-inch threaded holes for attaching audio, lighting and monitoring equipment for a complete videography rig. Finally, its rechargeable battery also serves as a power bank that can be used to charge camera, mobile phones and other USB-powered devices if required.
Remember how I said it is going to give the Ronin-SC a run for its money? Well, in this case, the Zhiyun CRANE-M2 Camera Stabilizer is asking for nearly 100 dollars less, at $269. You can acquire the Zhiyun CRANE-M2 from B&H, Best Buy, and on the brand’s official store on AliExpress.
