What is eye-catching, super quick, and good for a family of four? A fast sedan which the market isn’t lacking. But if you have to pick one from the sub-60 category, you probably want to consider this Nürburgring record lap-time setter, the 2022 Audi RS 3 Sedan.
Joining the Audi Sport lineup, the RS entry point 2022 Audi RS 3 Sedan is powered by a 2.5L 5-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces a very healthy 401 horsepower (295 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 nm) of torque.
Mated to a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission, the power is put to good use on all four wheels (yup, it’s a Quattro, alright). This thing may be an entry point to the RS but it is no slouch.
The RS 3 made its mark not just on the tracks; it is quick for daily drives too, wiping 0-60 (0-97 km/h) in mere 3.6 seconds and sending it on its way to a top speed of an electronically limited 155 mph (249 km/h).
180 mph (290 km/h) top track speed is possible but as far as U.S. streets are concerned, 155 is the upper limit. This means it is a potential track car for your weekend races.
Other notables include an RS-tuned progressive electromechanical steering with speed-dependent power assist, RS sport suspension plus with dynamic chassis control (DCC), electromechanical parking brake, red 6-piston front calipers, single-piston rear calipers, new RS driving modes, RS Torque Splitter, a wider front track (by 33 mm or 1.3 inches compared to its predecessor), a glossy black rear lip spoiler, RS-specific rear bumper with built-in diffuser, RS exhaust system with a fully variable flap control (it has a twin oval tailpipes), 19-inch cast-aluminum wheels, Matrix-design LED headlights, LED taillights, and a 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit – just to name a few.
