2023 Mazda CX-50 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition

Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) has just announced the 2023 Mazda CX-50 Meridian Edition, outfitted with essential outdoor accessories that will “further the outdoor experience.”

2023 Mazda CX-50 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition is built on the standard Mazda CX-50 2.5 Turbo model and all the features equipped with it, bolstered by, well, the Meridian Edition package that expands the vehicle capabilities with exclusive black metallic 18-inch wheels wrapped in 225/60/18 Falken all-terrain tires.

It further features an all-new headlight garnish, a unique Meridian Edition-branded matte black hood graphic, black wheel locks and lug nuts, and side rocker panels to protect the vehicle from the outside elements while offering a rugged image.

If that’s not outdoorsy for you, there is an optionally available Apex Package that will further boost the adventurous spirit with equipment like roof-mounted black crossbars, a roof platform, and front and rear splash guards.

Under the hood, the CX-50 remains the same though, featuring Mazda’s standard i-Activ all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, Skyactiv-G 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 256 horses and 320 lb-ft of torque on a premium 93 octane fuel, or 227 ponies and 310 lb-ft of torque on regular 87 octane fuel.

The motor is mated to a Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic gearbox with manual shift mode. No, wait. The Meridian Edition actually boasts Mazda’s Mi-Drive with four driving modes: Normal, Sport, Off-Road, and Towing.

Also, it is worthy to mention that the Meridian Edition is offered exclusively in Polymetal Gray or Zircon Sand exterior color, while the interior is only available in the new Terracotta leather with black interior accents.

The 2023 Mazda CX-50 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition will be available this fall with a starting price of US$39,950.
