Still on Playmobil… if the fictional car isn’t your cuppa, then perhaps you may be interested in a couple of classic cars that have made their mark in the history of automobiles. Folks, meet the Playmobil Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (70922) and Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 (70923).

For Mercedes-Benz, it is the first. Whereas Porsche, the 70923 is the third Porsche to be Playmobil-ized, following the Porsche Mission E (70765) and Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (70764).

The Playmobil Mercedes-Benz 300 SL (70922) is based on the then-radical sports car introduced in 1954 at the International Motor Sports Show in New York. The 50s 300 SL has a top speed of 228 mph – the fastest sports car of its time and features the iconic gullwing and advanced for that time direct injection.

The 70765 faithfully recreated the Mercedes-Benz icon in its weekend racer guise with playability in mind. It features hinged gullwing doors that open to reveal a sporty, red interior that can accommodate the two included Playmobil figures.

The toy further boasts chrome-colored bumpers and radiator grille, racing numbers applied to the car, an opening trunk with generous storage space, and a bunch of accessories, including a mechanic toolbox, finish line flag, and pit board, and more. Finally, a vehicle information plaque adds to the toy car’s collectability.

Playmobil Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 (70923)

The Playmobil Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 (70923), on the other hand, is here in time for the model’s 50th anniversary. The car, which first debuted in 1972 at the Paris Motor Show, was the first street sports car to rock both front and rear spoilers. The rear spoiler, dubbed Duck Tail, is as iconic as the vehicle.

The 70923 is presented in chic yellow with the familiar curved Carrera branding on the sides. The toy car further features a removable roof to facilitate the fitting of the included Playmobil figures in the car.
