Destiny: Rising Video Game by NetEase Games

On November 1 last year, players were introduced to the alpha testing of the new game Destiny: Rising from Chinese developer NetEase. The product is a mobile gacha shooter set in the Destiny universe. Seven months later, the creators invited players to participate in the closed beta testing of the game, during which some improvements and refinements were identified.

The game is scheduled for release very soon, on August 28, and millions of players are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to play. Here is an overview of some of the features highlighted by players during testing that make this game unique in the entire Destiny universe.

Graphics and Controls

After almost a year of development, some control parameters have been improved. For example, a new item has been added to the settings menu, allowing players to select the type of aim and run activation, adjust mouse sensitivity, and change all hotkeys. As with the gamepad, switching to this type of control activates a special version of the main interface. Players noted its compactness and pleasant appearance. Buttons for interacting with various menus and interactive elements were also added. As for graphics, a new option has been added to the graphics settings in the beta version, enabling users to switch between standard and HD textures.

Game Content

A second story chapter has been added to the game. It takes place in a new region ruled by an Iron Lord named Radegast, already familiar to fans of the Destiny universe. The key villain is a representative of the Cabal race, which has managed to create powerful equipment. Also, the mysterious Ahamkara plays an important role in the plot, around which the events of the next story chapter will most likely unfold.

A new second region called “Red Sea Rift” has been added. It opens during the course of the above-mentioned story chapter and is presented as a rocky terrain. As gamers explore it, they will come across a small settlement inhabited by all the key NPCs of the region, Kabal outposts, and various caves. This region contains two large locations – Veridia Forest and Firebase Minos, and many mini-games, such as Circuit Problem, Ahamkara Bones, Data Matrix, and others.

Overall level

To the delight of many players, the developers changed the Destiny Rising leveling system and introduced an overall account level. Now, when players gain experience, they only level up once, and this level is automatically applied to all characters, even those they will receive in the future.

Artifacts

The artifact system has been slightly changed as follows:

  • Artifacts now also have levels, and as they level up, their power also increases.
  • The main interface has been completely redesigned.
  • The number of varieties has been reduced from three to two: Tenacious Calyx and Sharp Calyx.

Weapons

Weapons also have a level. To increase it, you need to gain experience, and once the bar is full, the weapon will move to the next level. Experience can be gained in several ways: using weapons of a similar grade and a special reagent.

Features of Destiny: Rising as a gacha game

The game features a gacha system, which is mainly used to obtain new characters. It becomes available at a certain point in the storyline. The game offers two types of banners: permanent and limited. To scroll through the banners, you need Lumia Leaf or gacha spins, which can be obtained in-game, from various events, or purchased with Lumia Leaf.

Regardless of the banner type, it contains purple and gold grade characters. A random gold character can drop from a permanent banner, and a specific one from a limited banner. The chance of a gold character dropping is only 1%, and it increases slightly after each spin.

In addition to characters from gacha, players can obtain resources for character and weapon development, bright dust, and ghost skins.

Final thoughts

Based on the results of several preliminary tests, the game underwent a number of improvements that were approved by players. It features a lot of PvE activities, both very simple and moderately complex by mobile standards, as well as PvP activities and a host of secondary features, all of which are capable of keeping users engaged for a long time. This has paid off, with over 5 million users already pre-registering on the Play Store and App Store.

Destiny: Rising promises to be a significant event for mobile gaming. It offers Destiny fans a completely new experience based on a familiar universe. Its rich history, variety of characters and modes, adaptation for mobile devices, and close collaboration with Bungie make it one of the most anticipated mobile games.
