Not everyone can own actual passenger jets like John Travolta, Donald Trump, or the Sultan of Brunei. I mean, look at the cost of the runway. That alone is probably going to cost the kidneys of the entire population of a small country. Thankfully, there is a far more approachable way to experience piloting a modern airliner without remortgaging your soul, and that is with the monstrous E-Flite Airbus A320neo Twin 64mm EDF RC Plane.

For a start, you are not flying a knockoff. This big fella, which is around 1:28 scale, is officially licensed by Airbus. So yes, the French aerospace giant has given its blessing to let you yeet a mini A320neo into the sky. This thing is massive. Like, really, really massive. It measures a ridiculous 1,590 mm in length and spans 1,522 mm wingtip to wingtip. For fans of imperial units, that is 62.2 inches by 59.9 inches. Bonkers. It will turn heads on size alone. The accurate details help too, complete with Sharklets, flaps, LED navigation lights, landing lights, and functioning retractable gear.

Now, about the speed. Claims are floating around that this thing can hit 100 mph (161 km/h), and if that’s true, it would mean it is 3 times faster than the real deal, scale-speak. Then again, to achieve such speed would require some serious beefing up of the electronics.

Still, even without turning it into an RC missile, the twin 12-blade 64 mm fans, high-RPM brushless motors, and 40-amp Spektrum Avian Dual Smart Lite ESC should deliver plenty of go-fast energy. Pair that with a 6S LiPo between 3,200 mAh and 7,000 mAh, and you get flight times that are surprisingly generous for an EDF airliner.

It is not all brute force. The BNF Basic versions feature enhanced AS3X+ stabilization that smooths out turbulence and wind. Optional SAFE Select provides extra flight envelope protection for those who prefer their landings to be less “hold my beer”. Thrust reversing is another neat trick. It shortens landing rollout and lets you perform ground-handling moves that make it feel like you are taxiing a very cooperative full-scale jet.

The EPO airframe is light yet strong, fully painted, and ready to impress. Assembly is quick with a two-piece wing that installs without glue or tools. Shock-absorbing struts let you operate on grass, too. If you go for the Base White version, you can customize the livery, so you can finally create your own fictional airline without filling out paperwork.

There are three versions available: the A320neo Twin 64mm EDF PNP at 549.99 US dollars, the A320neo Twin 64mm EDF BNF Basic with AS3X+ and SAFE Select at 619.99 US dollars, and the A320neo Twin 64mm EDF BNF Basic Base White at 619.99 US dollars.

Keep going to steal a few more looks at this majestic RC airliner.
