Apple is marking Black History Month with a new Black Unity Apple Watch band that keeps things meaningful without shouting. The Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop is designed around the idea of connection, both cultural and literal, and features the colors of the Pan-African flag woven into a textured, multi-shade finish. Look closer, and you’ll spot layered reds, greens, and blacks that add depth beyond a simple stripe job.
The band is created by braiding recycled polyester yarn around ultrathin silicone threads using precision machinery, resulting in a soft, stretchable fit that’s also sweat- and water-resistant. As previous Black Unity releases, it was designed by Black creatives and allies at Apple. The 42mm version fits Apple Watch Series 4 or later, Apple Watch SE, and remains unmistakably Apple in execution.
