Smartwatches and fitness are a match made in gadget heaven. You know what else pairs well with one? Golf. Garmin knew that. So did TAG Heuer. The Swiss watchmaker has been turning its Connected watches into golf companions for years, and now the new Connected Calibre E5 is heading to the course with help from TaylorMade.
The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 45 mm x TaylorMade Edition, as it is called, wears a brushed and sandblasted Grade 2 titanium case without the usual black DLC coating. Its bezel is marked with 18 holes, while the crown, caseback, and blue leather-and-rubber strap carry TaylorMade details. A stretch textile strap is also included for golfers who prefer not to season leather with perspiration.
More importantly, the watch automatically records shots and positions without requiring mid-game fiddling. TAG Heuer’s captured data is processed using TaylorMade’s strokes-gained analysis, revealing where you gained strokes, lost them, or made decisions best forgotten. Golf complications display your longest drive, scores, rounds, and birdies, while two exclusive faces—Momentum and Topography—bring golf-inspired graphics to the AMOLED display.
Beyond the course, it offers dual-band GPS, heart-rate and SpO2 monitoring, sleep tracking, calls, and voice assistance. Battery life reaches two days in performance mode, three in low-power mode, or 12 hours while golfing. Thirty minutes of charging supplies one day of use.
