We’ve seen headphones with cameras before. There was the VibeLens MusicCam, which was more of an action camera with open-ear audio, and the Rollme AirCam, which took a similar approach but added AI smarts.
Now, Rollme is back with another camera-equipped wearable. But this time, instead of an open-ear contraption, it has gone with a proper pair of over-ear headphones. You know, actual audio cans that cover your ears.
Folks, meet the Rollme AuraCam AI Camera Headphones.
The AuraCam looks like a conventional pair of wireless headphones, albeit with a rather conspicuous camera integrated into its frame. That camera packs an 8 MP sensor with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), allowing users to capture photos and HD videos hands-free.
So, whether you’re sightseeing, exploring somewhere new, or just documenting your day, you can record what you’re looking at without constantly reaching for your phone.
And there’s more to it than photography.
The AuraCam features OpenAI-powered visual recognition and real-time AI translation, allowing it to identify objects and assist with conversations across different languages. There’s also a meeting-recording function activated with three quick taps.
But unlike those earlier camera wearables, the AuraCam actually puts some serious attention into audio. It features 40 mm drivers with microcrystalline metal diaphragms, promising detailed highs, low distortion, and immersive sound. Low-latency performance also makes it suitable for gaming and watching videos.
For comfort, Rollme has equipped the headphones with skin-friendly leather ear cushions designed for extended listening sessions.
Connectivity comes courtesy of Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6, with one-tap transfers of photos and videos to the companion app. The company also promises all-day battery life and fast charging, although it hasn’t provided specific endurance figures.
Of course, there’s the question of whether you really want a camera staring out from your headphones. But considering how many gadgets already have cameras, perhaps this was inevitable.
The Rollme AuraCam AI Camera Headphones are available in Black and Beige through the official Rollme store for US$89.99, as part of its 11.11 promotion.
