Acer was late to the handheld gaming party with the Nitro Blaze 7 debuting only last year, but now it’s aiming to make a bigger splash—literally. At CES 2025, Acer rolled out not one but two new handheld gaming PCs: the Nitro Blaze 8 and the supersized Nitro Blaze 11. Turns out, when it comes to mobile gaming, Acer believes that bigger and better is the winning formula. Well, I cannot see how they won’t be.
Acer Nitro Blaze 8

The Nitro Blaze 8 is for those who believe great things come in smaller packages. Featuring an 8.8-inch WQXGA touch display with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 97% DCI-P3 color gamut, it delivers crisp visuals and smooth gameplay.
Under the hood, it’s powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor with Ryzen AI, capable of up to 39 TOPS, and AMD Radeon™ 780M graphics. With 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM clocked at 7500 MT/s and up to 2 TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe storage, there’s plenty of room for AAA titles and rapid load times.
Connectivity is sorted with USB4, USB 3.2 ports, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3. DTS:X Ultra Audio and Hall effect triggers elevate immersion, while the built-in Acer Game Space app keeps your library within arm’s reach. Its 720 g weight and 55 Wh battery make it portable without compromising power.
Acer Nitro Blaze 11

If bigger is better, the Nitro Blaze 11 has your back. With a 10.95-inch WQXGA display (120 Hz, 98% DCI-P3), it’s made for gamers who like their visuals bold and detailed. The same Ryzen 7 8840HS processor and Radeon 780M graphics ensure seamless performance, while the additional screen real estate makes multitasking and streaming a breeze.
Weighing 1050g, it’s not exactly pocket-friendly, but its detachable controllers, built-in stand, and 3-month PC Game Pass more than make up for it. A 100 W charger ensures quick recharges during marathon gaming sessions, while the front camera and upgraded audio capabilities make it perfect for streaming and video calls.
Oh did we mention that the controllers are removable? Yup. The Nitro Blaze 11 is kinda a gaming tablet but with the boon of proper controllers that let you use it like a Nintendo Switch.
Acer Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller

For gamers on the move, Acer also unveiled the Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller, a compact, foldable gadget designed to pair with your mobile devices. Its adjustable grips accommodate screens up to 8.3 inches, and pass-through 18W fast charging ensures your gaming never has to hit pause. Whether you’re conquering levels on Android or iOS, this controller is your portable co-op partner.
