By now, you probably would have seen images of the wacky Gorilla couch floating on the Internet. We all know it isn’t real; it is AI generated, or is it really? With China in the picture, nothing seems impossible. It is really the case of “there is nothing you can’t buy, only what you can’t think of” when it comes to China because we came across a company that turned the AI Gorilla sofa into a product money can buy.
There is this company called City House Furniture that is peddling the Gorilla Sofa IRL. We do not how much but a search on China’s largest e-commerce website reveals it sells for 5,000-6,000 yuan which should be about US$690-US$825). However, this does not necessarily mean that City House Furniture or whoever is importing it to your home country will sell at this “affordable” price. I’d think it will be 5-6 times more.
Another thing to note is that several merchants are peddling it and most of them, if not all, use the same viral AI generated for their sale post which is totally not legal. Then again, who is to claim when it is AI-generated? Anyhoo, if you are so inclined, you may want to touch base with City House Furniture on Instagram or TikTok to learn more. Damn, what a world we live in. I hope no one is providing services to add another digit to their hands. LoL! If you know, you know.
