While Garmin smartwatches are expensive, they are never deemed ‘luxury’. Well, that changed recently with a collaboration with the purveyor of ‘fast’ lifestyle goods, Porsche Design. Folks, this is the Smartwatch Porsche x Garmin Epix Pro, GPS multisport smartwatch elevated. It has been a while since Porsche Design has lent its name to a smartwatch. The last was, I believe, the Huawei Watch GT 2.
Much like the GT 2, the Smartwatch Porsche x Garmin Epix Pro is not just merely a recolor of the Epix Pro. We observed the screws on the lugs of the Epix Pro have been eliminated for the extra, sleek look. In addition, the START/STOP crown is laser-engraved with the iconic Porsche crest.
The smart sports timepiece is elevated by a brushed, uncoated stainless steel case, and a black bezel ring, and paired with a gray silicone watchband with a Porsche logo. The Porsche branding can also be found on the stainless steel bucket. Rounding up the Porsche touches is a customizable watch face that can be configured with a Porsche Crest, Porsche logo, or 12 different vehicle logos.
Beyond that, the Smartwatch Porsche x Garmin Epix Pro is still the Epix Pro, featuring a 1.2” AMOLED touch display, a 42 mm stainless steel case, 32 GB memory, a Gen5 nextgenHR sensor, 60 sport and outdoor activity profiles, extensive health features, SatIQ technology and multi-frequency reception, LED light, and waterproof up to 10 ATM, up to 10 days of battery life—just to name a few.
If money is no object and you happen to be in the market for a capable sports smart timepiece with a touch of luxury, you may want to consider picking up the Smartwatch Porsche x Garmin Epix Pro for a grand US$1,250.
