Angel Champagne Vintage 2008 Godzilla Edition

To this day, I never figured out if Godzilla is an antagonist or a protagonist. Either way, you probably wouldn’t pop champagne when it shows up. But if you insist on popping a bottle in Godzilla’s honor, there’s the Angel Champagne Vintage 2008 Godzilla Edition.

To mark its 70th year, Angel Champagne has unleashed a limited-edition bubbly that somehow feels as chaotic as the King of the Monsters. The effervescence even looks a little like the bubbling sea when Big G rises—though that connection isn’t officially acknowledged.

The bottle and egg-shaped case sparkle in metallic black, evoking Godzilla’s world, but it doesn’t stop at looks. This champagne goes full sensory overload. Open the case, and it blasts the Godzilla theme and roar, complete with dramatic lighting to make the unboxing feel like a kaiju entrance.

Inside sits a 750 ml mix of Chardonnay, Meunier, and Pinot Noir with 12.5% content, perched on a branded platform. The shiny black bottle carries Godzilla’s mark, while the case flexes a “70” logo with his silhouette tucked inside.

The Angel Champagne Vintage 2008 Godzilla Edition is available now in Japan at Angel Champagne’s Ginza store and webstore for a monstrous 198,000 yen [JP] (about US$1,341).
