It has been nearly three years since Apple AirPods Pro quietly debuted. Today, it finally gets to the second generation. Don’t need to scrutinize the aesthetic for it is identical to the first. The upgrades are under the hood where it is blessed with a more powerful H2 chip.
The next-generation Apple AirPods Pro is powered by the H2 chip unlock breakthrough audio performance, including major upgrades to Active Noise Cancellation and Adaptive Transparency mode. The new AirPods Pro also introduces Spatial Audio.
In addition, it now has Touch Control. for media playback and volume adjustments directly from the tiny stem and a longer battery. The new earbuds now last for 6 hours and together with the charging case, it offers up to 30 hours of battery life.
Speaking of the charging case, it is a MagSafe Charging Case outfitted with an Apple U1 chip, allowing it to be charged with a MagSafe charger, Apple Watch charger, Qi-certified chargers, or the Lightning connector. Finally, it also gets an additional ear tip size for a better fit.
Other worthy mentions include a custom high-excursion Apple driver paired with a custom high-dynamic range amplifier, vent system for pressure equalization, dual beamforming mics, inward-facing microphone, Bluetooth 5.3 wireless technology, skin-detect sensor, motion- and speech-detecting accelerometer, and adaptive EQ. Both the earbuds and charging case are IPX4 for sweat and water resistance.
