Oh, you think the displays iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are too small? Well, it looks like Apple has heard you and has given the new Pro and Pro Max models larger screens. So, yeah. The flagships of the most anticipated gadget (or maybe not so much?) of 2024 have been announced.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are here, bringing some pretty neat new features while staying true to Apple’s clean, functional design. Powered by the A18 Pro chip, these models deliver serious performance improvements, with larger displays that make everything from gaming to photography feel more immersive. The Pro now measures 6.3 inches, and the Pro Max boasts a massive 6.9-inch screen, all while maintaining the thinnest borders ever seen on an iPhone.
Apple Intelligence, built into both models, understands personal context and makes everyday tasks easier without compromising privacy. From rewriting meeting notes to prioritizing emails and summarizing notifications, it’s like having a personal assistant that doesn’t overstep. Siri has also leveled up, making interactions more fluid and natural, and now it’s able to follow context from request to request.
The camera system gets a major overhaul. A new 48MP Fusion camera with a faster quad-pixel sensor lets you shoot 4K at 120 fps in Dolby Vision, making it a great tool for capturing high-quality videos. The Ultra Wide lens now packs 48MP too, and there’s a 5x Telephoto camera on both models, giving you even more flexibility. Plus, you can take spatial photos and videos for Apple Vision Pro. Studio-quality mics round out the package, letting you record audio that sounds true to life.
Design-wise, both models feature a lightweight yet strong titanium frame, and they come in four new finishes: black, white, natural, and desert titanium. Battery life sees a huge boost, with the Pro Max offering the longest-lasting battery on any iPhone to date. If you’re into gaming, you’ll appreciate the faster 6-core GPU and hardware-accelerated ray tracing, making games look more lifelike than ever.
Camera Control introduces a new tactile switch that lets you quickly launch the camera, snap a photo, or start recording without diving into menus. This feature also integrates with third-party apps, expanding your creative possibilities.
Environmentally, Apple is continuing its green push, with these models made from over 25% recycled materials. And for those keen to upgrade, trade-in deals make the jump to these new models more affordable.
Starting at US$999 for the iPhone 16 Pro and US$1,199 for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, pre-orders begin on September 13, with availability starting September 20, 2024.
