MACROSS/Robotech fans, we bear glad tidings! Remember the 1/3000 SDF-1 MACROSS toy from 2010 by Yamato Toys and, later, Arcadia? Here’s your second chance if it has been on your wishlist but you’ve put off buying it on the resale market due to the exorbitant asking price. Arcadia, best known for its Macross collectibles, has announced the Arcadia 1/3000 SDF-1 MACROSS Toy Re-issue!

For those not in the know, this toy is based on the massive alien spaceship rebuilt by humans using advanced alien tech to counter an extraterrestrial invasion. It replicates the ship’s appearance in the 1984 movie Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? (hence the colorways). Like the original, this is a fully transformable toy, converting from Cruiser (Fortress) mode—where it resembles a space aircraft carrier/flying city—to Battroid (Attack/Assault) mode, where it takes on a humanoid form, complete with a head that serves as the command center/bridge.
It is unclear if this reissue will feature any improvements or is a straight-up rerelease. However, according to Arcadia’s listing, the toy is made of ABS, POM, and zinc alloy and measures approximately 400 mm (15.7 inches) in Fortress mode. Sadly, it retains the same size as the original, which is unfortunate—this majestic space fortress deserves to be bigger; I would say it should be at least 700 mm (28 inches or 2.3 feet).
The model comes fully assembled and requires no painting, but some minor assembly is needed for small details, such as screw covers, turrets, and nozzles. It will also include a pedestal and a sticker sheet.
Preorders for the Arcadia 1/3000 SDF-1 MACROSS Toy Re-issue are now open on Arcadia for 43,780 yen (tax included) [JP] (about 294 USD), with shipping expected to commence in October 2025. International shoppers can also check Amiami.com, where it’s available for preorder at 42,900 yen (around 289.62 USD, according to Amiami).
