you will be forgiven to think the above time piece from Singapore-based Azimuth looks like a tank. it is in fact, inspired by a tank. though not any particular tank but the form is unmistakeable: the muscular sides reminisce of a tank’s tracks, the top is the ‘turret’ of a tank and the steeply raked front is also typical of a modern day tank design. check out a short intro video of the SP-1 Landship after the break.

dubbed the SP-1 Landship, the watch features the hours and minutes that are cleverly designed into this unique (some said ‘weird’) tank form. the ‘turret’ house the hours while the front houses the retrograde minutes. pretty cool but just not exactly an easy way to read time though. under the hood is a sophisticated Swiss automatic movement and it is water resistant up to 30 meters. first showcased at the BASELWORLD 2011 in March, the SP-1 Landship is limited to just 10 pieces worldwide and with each piece costing around $7,000.
