7 years and two generations on, Bang & Olufsen is updating Beoplay A9 with a third iteration. Retaining the now-iconic satellite dish-like circular design (except that it isn’t concave), the latest Beoplay A9 will get a list of new features fit for 2019 and beyond, including built-in Google Assistant for voice control and smart home functionality right from the A9 and Active Room Compensation that adjusts the sound signature based on the speaker’s surroundings.
Additionally, there’s a new streaming engine built-in with faster connectivity for streaming technologies including Google Cast and Apple AirPlay 2, and two full-range drivers are added to the rear – bring a total of seven drivers for a broader soundscape. And there’s a new fabric power cord to harmonized with the overall look.
The updated Bang & Olufsen Beoplay A9 Speaker will arrival on May 14, 2019, priced as the current third-generation iteration, at $3,000 a piece. It will be available in white with oak legs, black with black walnut legs, and brass and bronze tone special editions.
