Beats Powerbeats Pro Wireless Earphones

You heard it is coming and now here it is. Apple-owned Beats’ first true wireless earphones, Beats Powerbeats Pro, is finally here. Beats Powerbeats Pro is essentially the Beats Powerbeats but without the cord in-between the two earpieces and hence, making it a true wireless earbuds. However, unlike the many true wireless earbuds out there, Beats did not try to shrink it. It is not discreet even by a bit. Instead, it retains the Powerbeats design style which is not small, btw, and that is a good thing, IMHO, because, it does not sacrifice size for performance.

Speaking of performance, Beats Powerbeats Pro is powered by Apple-designed H1 chip as found in the Apple AirPods which means, you are essentially getting the AirPods but a lot less uglier. The driver is unknown. A missing detail that shouldn’t surprise fans of Beats. It has always been that way. But we are promised “powerful, balanced sound with dynamic range and noise isolation for a premium listening experience.” Not surprisingly, this pair of wireless earphones supports hands-free controls via “Hey Siri” on iOS devices. Its voice capability also extends to a variety of compatible devices with a push of the ‘b’ button (also the same button to take and reject calls).

Other features include Class 1 Bluetooth technology, up to 9 hours of play time, up to a combine of 24 hours playtime with the included Lightning-powered charging case, 5-minute “Fast Fuel” charging that gives 1.5 hours of use when battery is low, adjustable secure-fit ear hooks, a sweat and water resistance construction, onboard buttons for volume control, and built-in sensors that automatically start playing music when you pop in the earphones and pause when you take them out.

Beats Powerbeats Pro Wireless Earphones is set to be available starting May from Apple web store and at Apple Stores in several countries, in choice of Black, Ivory, Moss and Navy colorways. Me would love myself a pair, but unfortunately, this first true wireless earphones from Beats commands a rather prohibitive, audiophile-level kind of pricing of $249.95 that is clearly beyond the reach of mortals like me.
