Bell & Ross is no stranger in including skull elements into its timepieces. It all started in 2009 with the first BR 01 Skull, with the most recent being the BR 01 Laughing Skull. And on Tuesday, a new BR 01 Skull joins the family of skull-themed luxury timepieces, but this time, with an uber futuristic vibe. Folks, meet the Bell & Ross BR 01 Cyber Skull.
With the Bell & Ross BR 01 Cyber Skull, straight geometric lines is the name of the design, offering an avant-garde take of the iconic series and taking it into the future. At a glance, this latest BR 01 luxe watch looked like a mash up of a skull and a stealth fighter jet, the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk.
The stealth plane sculpt is no coincidence; it links the brand’s lineage to aeronautics and at the same time, the multi-facets design echos contemporary art. It looks pixelated and appears to look like an origami, depending on how you look at it. We absolutely dig the look.
We love how the skeletonized dial, in which the cyber skull is the dial, but not completely filling out the dial face. This leaves some transparent element for the background to be seen which super cool. The futuristic geometric skull dial is encased in a cyber take of the original with more sharp edges.
Under the wood, the 45 mm case size BR 01 Cyber Skull is powered by calibre BR-CAL.206., featuring hand-wound mechanical, hours and minutes.
Other elements include black ceramic skull, metal skeleton Super-LumiNova-filled hour and minute hands and indices, sapphire with anti-reflective coating, water resistance to 50 meters, black rubber strap, and steel pin buckle in black PVD coating.
Limited to just 500 pieces, the Bell & Ross BR 01 Cyber Skull limited luxury timepiece can be had for US$10,900.
