The Clip Bag Handbag by Siena Cho

Have you ever looked at a binder clip and gone, “Damn, I wish it could be many times larger so I could use it as a bag.” If you do… first of all, that’s a weird but interesting desire, and secondly, you are not alone. Designer Siena Cho had this avant-garde idea, too, and turned it into reality. That’s right, my bold, fashion-forward friends, a binder clip bag is now a thing.

Aptly called The Clip Bag, Siena Cho reimagines the ubiquitous office clip, an item of office stationery that most people would think nothing of, into a handbag. Here’s the philosophy behind this creation:

“Born from a shared memory of a world transformed, the Clip Bag captures the essence of a time when the boundaries between our professional and personal lives dissolved. It reimagines the ubiquitous office clip, a symbol of utility, as an object of beauty and contemporary elegance.”

That’s the theory part. In reality, Cho may be onto something bigger. She has made an otherwise seemingly monotonous accessory into a star and perhaps, just perhaps, triggered everyday people to start paying attention to this office stationery essential. Well, here’s to making Binder Clip Great Again.

The Clip Bag was first unveiled in the designer’s graduate collection, and it has since been launched in limited quantities in four colors. Unfortunately, at the time of this post, the website selling the bag, www.thepinklemonade.store, is not reachable by us. So, I cannot say how much it costs.

The Clip Bag is not the only ordinary item turned into a fashion accessory. There was the face mask bag, the celery bag, and more.
