can’t decide if you love to two-wheel on tarmac or the beaten dirt tracks? no worries. the new BMW F 700 GS and the updated F 800 GS are just the motorcycles you will need to cope with the rigor of everyday road use while still totally capable of off-road maneuvers when you needed it. equipped with a 768 cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder unit that pumps out 85 hp (63 kW) and 83 Nm of torque, the F 800 GS is both equally at home on and off the road with features that include USD telescopic fork, progressive damping spring strut, spoke wheels (21-inch upfront) and aluminum handlebar. the F 700 GS, on the other hand, is more geared towards on-road user and is fitted with 71 hp (52 kW) engine that offers 77 Nm of torque. some of the features include gas pressure spring strut, cast wheels (19-inch upfront), new windshield and steel handlebar. common to both are the latest generation two-channel ABS, double disc front brake, adjustable rear spring mount via optimized handwheel, new handlebar switch units, new dial faces for speedometer and engine speed display (plus an extended range of info), smoke grey turn indicators, LED rear light also with smoke grey glass cover, and last but not least, a newly sculpted body with a more distinctive look, plus new paint finishes exclusive for each model. also offered are a host of ex works option for both models, which includes comfort seat, enduro wide footrests, Automatic Stability Control (ASC), Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA), lowered suspension (for F 800 GS), LED auxiliary headlight (also for F 800 GS) and comfort package that comprises of an onboard computer, heated grips, case holder, as well as center stand. information on their prices and availability remain a mystery for now. in the meantime, gun past the jump for a beautiful gallery of the F 700 GS and F 800 GS.
