Burning Godzilla 30th Anniversary Seiko Collaboration Model Watch

Good news, super fans of the infamous radioactive reptile a.k.a. Gojira! There’s going to be a Burning Godzilla wristwatch from Seiko, which, I’m not going to lie, has set my heart fluttering a little. Marking the 30th anniversary of Burning Godzilla’s first appearance in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995), Bandai’s BanColle! fashion site and the Japanese watchmaker have partnered for a high-end timepiece, the Burning Godzilla 30th Anniversary Seiko Collaboration Model Watch.

It’s a beautiful open-heart complication watch. However, I gotta say, the graphics may not quite do justice to the Burning Godzilla namesake. Nothing is “burning” here except for the open heart — the cut-out window at the 9 o’clock position — which appears to be “engulfed” in fire. Just below it, slightly off to the side, is the BURNING GODZILLA 30TH branding in fiery orange.

The rest of the dial features a textured headshot of Godzilla with a very red, angry eye staring right at you—or at whoever dares to look straight into it. Yes. It’s “eye,” singular, because the other one is obscured by the open heart. It’s unclear what process was used to create the three-dimensional image of Gojira, but the effect is striking. The bezel surrounding the curved Hardlex crystal is finished in Godzilla matte black, tying the look together.

Around the back, the watch sports an exhibition caseback with the BURNING GODZILLA 30TH logo. The stainless steel perimeter is engraved with the serial number along with the usual Seiko information. The timepiece ships in a box textured to resemble Godzilla’s skin, complete with an embossed Godzilla logo on top.

Beyond the monster treatment, the watch runs on an automatic mechanical movement that supports manual winding and offers about 41 hours of power reserve. It features a 48 mm stainless steel case, a curved Hardlex crystal, and a stainless steel bracelet. It’s anti-magnetic, water-resistant to 10 bar, and made in Japan.

Only 300 pieces will be made, each individually numbered, and it’s priced at 77,000 yen [JP] (about US$503). The Burning Godzilla 30th Anniversary Seiko Watch drops in March 2026, with pre-orders open until December 25, 2025, at 23:00 hours. At the time of writing, it’s still available to order.
