Formula 1 fans may want to check out the new CASIO x Scuderia Toro Rosso chronograph timepieces. Announced yesterday, the CASIO EDIFICE Scuderia Toro Rosso Limited Edition watches are designed in collaboration with the prominent Formula 1 racing team, which CASIO happens to be its official team partner. Altogether, there are three models, namely ECB-900TR, EQS-920TR, and EFR-564TR, in this freshly minted collaboration.
Setting these EDIFICE apart from the rest of its counterparts include the familiar red, blue, and silver colors of the Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula 1 race cars, hour indexes in a typeface similar to the team car numbers, team logo on dial and case back, and a second hand decorated in Italy colors, the country where the team hails from. Rounding up the package is a requisite special packaging to further set it apart from regular EDIFICE watches.
Cosmetics aside, all three models feature a multi-dimensional face that juxtapose against a flat bezel and 100 meters water resistance (10ATM, or 330 feet). The ECB-900TR and ESS-920TR further boast solar-charging power system while the ECB-900TR further touts Bluetooth LE, allowing it to be connected to a smartphone to adjust time and settings like world time and alarm to be set from a smartphone app.
In the case of ECB-900TR LCDs at 12 and 9 o’clock positions offer view to a variety of information. The new CASIO EDIFICE Scuderia Toro Rosso Limited Edition is not to be confused with the earlier Scuderia Toro Rosso timepieces. These are new, limited edition chronographs.
From what we know, they are available to the Japan market with the ECB-564TR-2AJR going for 27,000 yen plus tax (about US$242+) and the ECB-900TR-2AJR commanding a grand 45,000 yen plus tax sticker (or around US$400+). Though we are not able to locate the EQS-920TR anywhere on CASIO Japan website and therefore, we are not able to advice on the price.
