China’s Elon Musk turned out to be a Deepfake

Remember Elon Musk’s Chinese doppelgänger? Well, last week, this man became the talk of the town again but not for his supposed resemblance to the world’s richest man.

Both his accounts on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo and Chinese TikTok (called Douyin) were swiftly banned after news that the supposed Elon Musk look was actually a product of deepfake.

I believe all hell broke loose after someone started to dig into his past postings on Weibo and apparently, discovered his before deepfake look.

In between, they are investigative folks who took a closer look at the various videos and found evidence of deepfake.

For example, there was a scene where he removed his sunglasses and deepfake failed to fill out the lens portion, thus exposing his original look. And then there is the part where he to his side and you can see it was a different person.

Anywho, I am not sure what is real anymore. It is not clear if this Chinese Elon Musk is indeed fake but seeing how his social media accounts got banned, he may very well be fake.
