Generally speaking, this is not the best time of the year to hit up Disneyland except for maybe Disneyland Hollywood Studios because, Florida. I won’t be hurrying to the Sunshine State, though, cos’ crocodile isn’t my thing.

Anywho, if you are, a new Star Wars attraction has just open up at Disneyland Florida’s Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and that is the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance thrill ride, if you have been following the development.

Disneyland New Star Wars Ride Opens

It is now open (since December 5, to be exact) at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and it will start accepting “resistance fighters” at Disneyland Park in California starting January 17, 2020.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is not so much of a roller coaster. It is like a 4D experience, but a lot less screen.

Disneyland New Star Wars Ride Opens

From what we see, it is like a cross between Universal Studios’ Transformers: The Ride and Disney Sea Japan’s Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull.

Here are the official words:

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance brings guests into the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance, including a face off with Kylo Ren. The journey takes guests aboard a full-size transport shuttle and then into a nearby Star Destroyer on a thrilling adventure that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality. One of the most immersive, ambitious and technologically advanced experiences in Disney history, the attraction uses multiple ride systems working together to create a seamless story on a cinematic scale. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens Dec. 5, 2019, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida and Jan. 17, 2020, at Disneyland Park in California.”

The key is immersion, not so much of thrill. I would think that the ride is an attraction only serious Star Wars fans, or to be precise, you are as much of a fan of the original trilogy as the post-George Lucas Star Wars movies.
