Businesses copy each other’s designs all the time. But some brands look at a design and think it could be improved. The Dreame MF10 Bladeless Air Circulation Fan is one such product.
It’s not the prettiest bladeless fan, to be honest, but it will turn heads. It will not be turning heads often, though, unless you hold countless parties like Nick Cage used to do because it will be in your home. Anyhoo, Dreame has taken the concept of a bladeless fan and literally given it a different spin.
Instead of a complete round or oval bladeless unit, it is split vertically into two halves. The two halves can rotate up and down through 90° independently of each other or as one. This, combined with the traditional 180° left-right horizontal rotation, results in Dreame’s GyroWing 270° whole-room airflow technology.
Now you know why it is branded as an air circulation fan. It is literally designed to circulate air, not just blow directly to chill a couple of people. This also means it can be used to help circulate cold air from an air conditioner for even cooling.
The fan further rocks AirBoost Technology, which offers 16× airflow. We are talking about air speeds of up to 18 m/s and a reach of as far as 13 meters.
On the smart side of this device, it features TempSync Technology for adaptive airflow. A built-in temperature sensor constantly monitors the temperature and adjusts the fan speed to match your set temperature. And yes, it is kind of a smart fan. It is smart-home-ready and supports voice control through your smart home.
It is, of course, app-enabled, allowing you to set scenes and stuff. You know, the things you do with smart devices. Though it does come with a full-featured remote that, when not in use, magnetically attaches to the top of the fan’s main body. Oh, there’s an LED touch display, too, if you prefer the “primitive” way of controlling stuff.
During sleep, it has a sleep wind mode, though I am not entirely sure what it does exactly. One thing is for sure: it is quieter, and I believe the wind is constant and gentle.
I don’t think there is any mention of the motor. However, Dreame said just 4 minutes is all it takes to circulate fresh air in a room measuring 40 square meters.
We are not done yet. At the base and around the back, you will find a removable and washable mesh filter. This filter compartment supports an optionally available HEPA filter for those who demand cleaner air.
The Dreame MF10 Bladeless Air Circulation Fan has been launched in Hong Kong, China, for HK$2,699 [CH] (about US$344), as well as in mainland China.
