the brand, Edifier is starting to grow on us. recently, it has been turning out speakers with rather loud design and looking pretty awesome at the same time. the Edifier E1100 Predator 2.1 Multimedia Speaker System is one such speaker system from this growing speakers maker that impresses us. looking much like something that jumps out of the movie Prometheus, this sci-fi inspired multimedia speaker system features a 5-inch downward firing subwoofer and a pair of satellite speakers, each fitted with a 2-inch front-firing full-range driver and a 2-inch passive radiator. the angled satellites offers enhanced sound projection while the passive radiators add dynamic range – with all drivers magnetically shielded, naturally. additional deep, thumping bass comes from its active subwoofer which has separate bass adjustment for the bass output. a master volume and power on/off dial are located on top of the subwoofer, surrounded by a very sci-fi blue halo indicator light. though aesthetically pleasing, its connectivity is limited by a lone 3.5mm auxiliary audio input jack but with a price tag of just $79.99, seriously, we shouldn’t be demanding for more. click on the above image for larger view.
