Buyers of Oppo Find X2 are not left out in the cold when it comes to “special edition” handset. In addition to the Oppo Find X2 Pro Automobili Lamborghini, Oppo has released a Oppo Find X2 “Havoc In Heavenly Palace” Edition inspired by Monkey God folklore – specifically, the classic animated version.

Actually, it is not quite a special edition phone. It is more like a “Havoc In Heavenly Palace” gift pack that comes with the Oppo Find X2 device along with a bunch of “Havoc In Heavenly Palace”-themed gifts.

The package comes with green-blueish version of the Oppo Find X2 in 8 GB / 128 GB configuration, a Monkey God artwork smartphone case, an Oppo Heytap (basically, Oppo account and internet services) membership card good for 6 months, and a phénakisticope.

For those who don’t know what a phénakisticope is, here’s the gist:

“The phénakistiscope usually comes in the form of a spinning cardboard disc attached vertically to a handle. Arrayed radially around the disc’s center is a series of pictures showing sequential phases of the animation. Small rectangular apertures are spaced evenly around the rim of the disc. The user would spin the disc and look through the moving slits at the images reflected in a mirror. The scanning of the slits across the reflected images keeps them from simply blurring together so that the user can see a rapid succession of images that appear to be a single moving picture.”

So, yeah, phénakisticope is kind like the granddaddy of animated GIF. Anyways, back to the Oppo Find X2 “Havoc In Heavenly Palace” Edition. It was on sale since March 13 in China and exclusively from for 5,499 yuan (about US$777), which is the same price as the standard Find X2 8 GB + 128 GB.
