Hang Gliding Went Wrong in Switzerland

Vacationing should be a happy thing, but every now and then, bad things do happen as this man from Florida can attest. YouTube user Gursk3 decided to have a go at hang glider for the first time when holidaying in Switzerland and as you may already have guessed, things did not quite work out as it should. In fact, he had a harrowing experience when the accompanying instructor failed to secure him to the hang glider. Like, seriously WTF???

Hang Gliding Went Wrong in Switzerland

As you can imagine, the entire trip high up in the air, which lasted for an eternal 2 minutes and 14 seconds, Gursk3 was hanging on to his dear life. In what supposed to be a beautiful experience, Gursk3 was struggling to hang to the glider and the instructor, instead of enjoying the breathtaking scenic views while in the air. I held my breath through out the video (OK, a bit of an exaggeration there, but you know what I meant) even though I knew very well he lived to tell the tale.

Fortunately, the instructor/pilot managed to get close enough to the ground, allowing Gursk3 to tumble to the grassy land. However, he did not escape unscathed. The impact resulted in an injured right wrist which required surgery and all the hanging on to his dear life had done damage his left bicep tendon. Though injured, Gursk3 was glad that it was not “the alternative,” which was plummeting to certain death. But Gursk3 is not deterred. In a video he posted on YouTube, he said he will go hang gliding again as he “did not get to enjoy his first flight.”
