Happinet Toys Back to the Future Part I DeLorean RC Car

The 40th-anniversary celebrations of Back to the Future are revving up, and Happinet Toys has joined the party with their Back to the Future Part I DeLorean RC Car [JP]. Revealed back in October, this 1/20-scale masterpiece is a time machine for your coffee table, though sadly, it won’t hit 88 mph—or generate any gigawatts.

Measuring 205 mm (8.1 inches) long, this RC wonder comes equipped with all the essentials: LED headlights for forward motion, LED taillights for reverse, and even functional gullwing doors. The cockpit and time circuits are simplified but recognizable, ensuring fans can imagine themselves piloting through time. For extra flair, you can attach the included lightning rod to recreate that climactic clock tower scene.

Powered by six AA batteries (four for the car and two for the controller), the DeLorean runs on a 2.4 GHz frequency and offers about 50 minutes of runtime. It’s perfect for ages 14 and up, making it ideal for collectors who want to race down memory lane—or just the hallway.

Set to launch on December 7, the DeLorean RC Car is priced at 7,678 yen [JP] (around $52). It may not transport you through time, but at least it’s cheaper than a flux capacitor.
