Yup. It sure was and still survives to this day as one of the three left in the world (and the only screen-used DeLorean in private hands). Also, it was pretty damn expensive too. How expensive, you ask? It costs car collector duo, father and son, Bill and Patrick Shea of North Central Massachusetts a whopping $440,000 back in 2011. So, as I was saying, it was actually a VW buried beneath and the reason being, the director needs a DeLorean that could take the punishment of unforgiving terrain for the scene where Marty Fly had to drive the DeLorean Time Machine across the sparsely vegetated desert. Obviously, the lackluster DeLorean DMC-12 won’t be able to take the beatings and so, it was decided that a dune buggy set up was the way to go. This is going to make Back to the Future fans from all around the world green with envy. One lucky Back to the Future super fan, Brandon, was the chosen one to receive a special one-of-a-kind super fan build from Break’s AWE me (Amaze, Wow, and Educate). Not surprisingly, being a Back to the Future nerd, Brando owns a boatload of Back to the Future memorabilia and related stuff, and he even had his home garage turned into a Back to the Future-themed man cave which he often held what he dubbed as “Time Party.” “Time Party” is where all his friends turned up for a party – all dressed in Back to the Future getups. Sounds like Brandon has everything there’s to own with respect to his all-time favorite sci-fi-comedy movie, but Shane Hammon, creative director and designer for SetMasters begs to differ – especially when he learned of the “Time Party.” Continue reading DeLorean Time Machine Turned Into A Hot Tub Is Insanely Awesome
The DeLorean Motor Company, otherwise known as DMC, may had only one model, the DeLorean DMC-12, to its name but this one model has since attained cult status – thanks in part to Back to the Future movies, which saw the car plays a critical role as the ‘time machine’, and the car’s unique brushed stainless steel body. Never mind the fact that the car has ceased production in 1983, a good two years after the first Back to the Future movie was made. It was and still is the car that many fanboys and car enthusiasts desire. Now, here’s the fabulous news: Continue reading DeLorean Is Back In Business And It Will Be Rolling Out New Old DMC-12 In 2017
To this day, there have been countless DeLorean Time Machine collectibles, ranging from the life size vehicle to scaled models. However, none of them actually flies, much less hovers. Well, that’s until Kids Logic comes along and shove a real hovering DeLorean of 1/20 scale into our face. First appeared at the Ani-Com and Games Convention in Hong Kong this past Summer, the 1/20 Magnetic Floating DeLorean Time Machine works along the same principle of the Floating Iron Man we saw a few months ago, which means Mr. Fusion ain’t working the magic to power this flying car time machine; instead, it only works over a special powered magnetic pad. Continue reading Yay! Hovering DeLorean Time Machine is Real, Albeit in 1/20th Scale
Can’t get enough of Back to the Future? Then we trust that the Crazy Case DeLorean iPhone Case will be on top of your BTTF must-have list. Conceived by Japanese toy company Bandai, the same company that brought you the Batmobile Tumbler iPhone Case, the DeLorean iPhone Case features intricate detail of the iconic DMC-12 that travels through time. The DeLorean iPhone Case won’t hover, however, even though it is fashioned after the flying variant of the DeLorean that travelled to the future (and back) – complete with the folded wheel and junk-consuming Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor, and it will not, in any way, let you time travel. If restoration shows are porn to you and you also happen to be a huge Back to the Future, then we bet you will be thrilled that Universal Studios has collaborated with a bunch of BTTF fans with “knowledge, passion and the obsessive attention to detail” to save the original 1985 DeLorean Time Machine. Yes. That was Doc’s ride that took Marty McFly back to the past, into the future, and into the gunslinger era and they are in the process of making a documentary covering every aspect of the restoration work like any great restoration shows do. Restoration-loving, cable fanatics will know what we are talking about. The elements familiar to reality shows should be expected, which includes success, setbacks and possibly, some doses of resentment in the team (though we are not sure of the latter. It’s speculation on our part). Continue reading Original DeLorean Time Machine Restored, Made into a Documentary
By now, DeLorean DMC-12 is as iconic as the science fiction flick Back to the Future and if you own one, you’re probably going to keep it in its original, polished stainless steel condition, but then again, who doesn’t want a Doc Brown‘s movie-famous DeLorean time machine? I know I would want that. Well, it looks like your dream is about to come true – if you have $29,999 to spare. No. That amount won’t get you the used DMC-12. In fact, you won’t get any car. Instead, it will get you the Back To The Future DeLorean Time Machine Conversion Kit, which means you will need to be a ready owner of a DeLorean, and you and your lovely DeLorean will need to be in the U.S. Continue reading For $30,000, You Can Turn Your DeLorean Into A Time Machine From Back to the Future Movies

yes. we couldn’t believe our eyes either. this is definitely not the DeLorean that we remembered. still fresh in our mind is the DeLorean that can take to the sky and zip through time (and leaving trails of fire in process, even in the sky!). this awesome ride began its second life back in 2002 (yes, it is 10 years old now) when it was refurbished by one DeLorean enthusiast by the name of Rich W. thereafter its recreation, it was named the D REX. it may not sport a flux capacitor to allow it to time travel nor can it take flight but it can certainly trample over any regular automobiles with ease. DeLorean. the name that made DMC famous or rather, it was the movie Back to the Future that make it so iconic. we are not going to see it often until perhaps the electric DeLorean make its appearance – if it ever will. however, not all hopes are lost. as a consolation, you can lay your hands on the modern rendition of the DeLorean – in the form of a two-wheel pedal-powered bicycle – the DeLorean Bicycle. it is worthy to note that this isn’t some rip-off that ride on the iconic namesake but it is the official ride backed by DMC and features, well, a stainless steel frame designed and handcrafted by Italian firm, Sarto Antonio Racing Bicycles. and you thought the DeLorean, along with the iconic DMC-12 were dead but it looks like it will be given a jolt of live in the form of an electric vehicle and it will be an all-electric vehicle, nothing less. at least that’s what the news says for now, until flux capacitor becomes a reality. oh, in case you are wondering, time travel is not included in the package. this retro beauty, that doesn’t even look a wee bit retro till today, will resurface in the 21st century in an all-electric guise and the company, Delorean Motor Company of Texas, is certainly serious about it. the all-electric DeLorean debuted at last week’s DMC Texas Open House Event.
