Honda Super-ONE Compact EV

Well, that was quick. The Honda Super-ONE Compact EV was only a prototype at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 last October/November, and now it is a go. Honda has officially announced that it is “coming soon.” If that isn’t the best news yet, get this: it looks exactly like the prototype—at least to my untrained eyes. That’s right. Wide body and all.

Folks, I said it before, and I will say it again: the Super-ONE may just reignite the JDM movement. Man, the hero color, Boost Violet Pearl, somehow makes this ride even more alluring. Though it slightly softens the aggressiveness delivered by the low and wide stance created by the protruding blister fenders.

The aesthetic is not just for show. The unique aero design enhances aerodynamic performance and cooling efficiency, giving it that assured, planted stance that looks like it sticks to the road.

Back to the color. It is an exclusive shade inspired by the “Blue Jet,” a type of lightning that streaks upward toward space. The deepened violet tone is meant to deliver a powerful and fantastical impact. This compact EV rolls on 15-inch aluminum wheels finished in Matte Berlina Black with machined accents.

Inside, it is clean and functional, featuring sports seats with lateral supports, Active Sound Control that reproduces the sound of a virtual engine, and a specially developed BOOST mode activated directly from the steering wheel. In BOOST mode, power output increases while a simulated 7-speed transmission and Active Sound Control mimic the feel and sound of a roaring gas engine.

It does not stop there. There are also virtual vibrations and lighting effects, offering the sensory feedback of a gas-powered car without burning any gas.

Notable interior features include a Super-ONE-exclusive 7-inch TFT LCD instrument panel and a BOSE premium sound system with no fewer than eight speakers. Yes. Eight. In such a tiny ride.

The Honda Super-ONE EV [JP] will debut in Japan this year, followed by Asia and the UK, where it will be known as the Super-N.
