Honor WIN smartphone with built-in cooling fan integrated into the camera module and 10,000 mAh battery design

Good news for folks who are in the market for a smartphone with a built-in cooling fan. Redmagic is not the only phone anymore because the Honor WIN series is here. That’s right. Much like the Redmagic series of gaming smartphones, Honor WIN also has an actual fan on the phone. But instead of having it under the camera cluster and having a pass-through from side to side, Honor placed the fan on the camera module in a manner much like the Redmi K90 Pro Max’s Bose speaker.

It is strategically located atop key components, namely the SoC, and cleverly assimilated into the cameras. The fan on top draws air in and passes it over these components before expelling it through vents at the bottom of the camera bump. On a side note, we heard that WIN is a new series set to replace the Honor GT series. Not sure how true that is.

Anyhoo, another star feature is the battery, which packs a whopping 10,000 mAh into a regular-size phone. You heard that right. 10,000. That’s power-bank-level capacity. Absolutely bonkers. What’s crazier is that the phone remains regular-sized, measuring 163.1 mm long, 76.6 mm wide, 8.3 mm thick, and still weighing about 229 g.

There are two models in this series for now: WIN and WIN RT. The two models share most of the specs between them, right down to the display, but differ in the chip, RAM, camera, and battery charging. The WIN RT is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, backed by LPDDR5X Elite RAM (allegedly), and a dual-camera setup comprising a 50 MP 1/1.56-inch sensor with OIS/EIS and a 12 MP 112° super wide-angle camera with macro photography and AF. The WIN RT does not have wireless charging. It supports 100W wired super fast charging, as well as 27W wired reverse charging.

Meanwhile, the WIN benefits from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, LPDDR5X Ultra RAM, and a tri-camera setup featuring the same cameras as the WIN RT, plus an additional 50 MP telephoto camera with OIS and EIS. Both devices boast a 50 MP wide-angle front-facing camera on the 6.83-inch FHD+ (2,800 × 1,272 pixels) OLED. Some highlights of this display include 6,000 nits peak brightness and 1 nit super low brightness.

In addition to the 100W wired super fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging, the WIN also supports 80W Honor wireless super fast charging. Beyond those differences, the phones are pretty much identical. They are both IP68, IP69, and IP69K rated, pack 5GA/5G/4G+/4G/2G radios, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, Honor self-developed connectivity enhancement chip C1+, dual nano-SIM support, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, BLE, LE Audio, et cetera, along with IR remote, USB 2.0 with Type-C interface, and the usual positioning systems and sensors.

All these come with a starting price of 2,699 yuan [CH] before discount for the WIN RT, and a starting price of 3,999 yuan [CH] before discount for the WIN.
