audio cans that look as good as it sounds are in abundance – it is a matter of how much are you willing to drop to get them, but breaking the bank is not necessary with this super sleek i-MEGO MAZE Studio Headphones. as always, we can’t attest to the sound, but as far as looks go, it is a winner for sure. i-MEGO chose a slender form factor by opting for an on-ear design for a true on-the-go portability and also to take the weight off your head. its beautiful semi-transparent vinyl record-inspired outer earcup deco plate is matched to an metal slider and soft memory foam cushion earcups, completing the look package. under the hood, the MAZE Studio Headphones features a patent-pending design that it said to draw inspiration from a photograph cylinder and aims to enhance acoustics and “provide larger-than-life” sound.
packed inside the earcups are two 40mm neodymium drivers which are specially designed to be 30 percent slimmer than a regular speaker, thereby allowing for more air cabinet volume within the earcups and resulting in better low frequency response. titanium diaphragm wraps up the audio reproduction package, promising balanced drivers for a natural, lifelike sound with extremely low distortion. the headphones is designed to be foldable and is built from a blend of aluminum, leather and plastic materials that covers the look, durability and comfort of use aspects. with a pair of cans looking so fantastic, it is no surprise that it has received the 2014 Red Dot: Product Design Award and the Platinum A’Design Award.
for $139.99, the iMEGO MAZE audiophile-grade audio cans comes with a soft carrying pouch, a detachable 4 feet (1.2 meter) cable with inline remote and integrated microphone, plus adapters to accommodate to any audio source.
