You have been enjoying the awesomeness of flat pack furniture from Ikea, now it is only fair that your best pals, AKA your pets, get the same level of enjoyment the Swedish furniture giant has to offer. Or maybe, at least it is for the sake of not wanting the mandatory pet furniture and/or accessories from ruining your minimalistic Ikea look you have painstakingly built. Called LURVIG, this new collection from Ikea has your pets, specifically dogs and cats, furniture needs covered.
Working with veterinarians, Ikea set out to design furniture and accessories that are functional, affordable and aesthetically pleasing. Not all items are designed from the ground up, though; some of them are ‘add-on’ that will turn ordinary Ikea furniture into pet-friendly furniture. LURVIG scratching mat is one example. It is designed to wrapped around regular table leg, turning them into scratch pole. Another example is the LURVIG cat house, a cat house that goes into the KALLAX shelving unit, turning square shelves into neat pet quarters.
There are a number of new furniture and accessories too, including convertible beds and pillow-beds of varying sizes, standalone cat house with bed, cat house on legs, plastic bowls, leashes, balls, pet waste bag dispensers, brushes, and a collapsible soft pet travel bag that comes complete with requisite mesh windows for your purr-pal to have a view of the outside world as you venture out with it inside.
