Remember the Insta360 GO 3, that tiny wearable action cam that was more spy gadget than camera? Well, the engineers over at the “DJI of action cams” apparently shoved it under Szalinski’s Growing Machine and blew it up slightly. The result is the Insta360 GO Ultra, a pocket camera designed to capture life as you live it. Yes, it’s bigger than the GO 3, but still tiny, still hands-free, and now packing serious muscle for image quality.

Under the hood of this pint-sized powerhouse is a new 1/1.28” sensor—that’s 221% larger than before. Paired with a 5nm AI chip, it promises the kind of smooth, crisp 4K60fps POV footage you’d never expect from a camera the size of a smartwatch. Grocery runs, toddler chaos, bike rides—you name it, it now looks cinematic. And with PureVideo AI, low-light scenes finally look less like horror found footage and more like, well, actual video.
The GO Ultra weighs just 53g and sticks anywhere thanks to its magnetic base. Insta360 also cooked up new accessories like the Magnet Pendant, sticky mounts, and even a Toddler Titan Hat Clip (yes, really), so your kid can star in their own action movie.
Of course, no Insta360 launch is complete without AI tricks in the app. Automatic edits, music, transitions, Strava cycling data overlays, even a “Family Moments” auto-album—all the busywork is done with a couple of taps.
The Insta360 GO Ultra is out now in Midnight Black or Arctic White. The Standard Bundle includes the Standalone Camera and Action Pod, plus a safety cord, mounts, and more. If you want one, be ready to commit at least US$449.99 of your hard-earned money.
