Soundbars with rear wireless speakers are cool but what if there are times that you do not want or need the rear speakers? This possibly rare scenario calls for a soundbar with detachable wireless surround speakers and the new JBL Bar 1000 is one such soundbar. It is not the first but it is the latest to rock this unique feature.
The JBL Bar 1000 is the flagship of the four new Dolby Atmos JBL soundbars that promise a “true home cinema experience” without wires. It is a 7.1.4 channel soundbar that boasts four up-firing drivers to envelop you in a sphere of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X 3D surround sound. All told, the JBL Bar 1000 Dolby Atmos Soundbar touts a maximum power output of 880W.
Also in the Bar series are the JBL Bar 300, JBL Bar 500, and JBL Bar 800. The latter also touts detachable wireless surround speakers.
In addition to the two detachable battery-powered wireless surround speakers, the JBL Bar 1000 also touts a 10” wireless subwoofer and boasts HARMAN’s unique MultiBeam technology that enables the soundbar to create realistic, accurate height effects for true Dolby Atmos and DTS:X 3D surround sound.
Moreover, all four soundbars feature PureVoice technology that uses JBL’s unique algorithm to optimize voice clarity. If so desired, the sound can be personalized using the JBL One app. The app also lets you set up the system as well as browse integrated music platforms.
The JBL Bar 1000 Dolby Atmos Soundbar will arrive at stores starting in October 2022, priced at €1,149 (US$1,138). What it will cost in its home country, the U.S.A., is not clear.
