KAMManufaktur is a familiar name in the Porsche restomod scenes. The Budapest-based company is best known for the restoration and enhancements of the original 912 sports car and the KAMM 912c you see here is its latest of work of art. It was first launched in September 2022 as a prototype and today, we looking at the full production model, complete with details of the specification.
This gorgeous new old sports car boasts a host of enhancements, including new suspension, fuel injection, brakes, and ECU, along with new gearbox and steering ratios. Optionally, the car can be ordered with a full carbon fiber body. Optional track-focused engine tune, exhaust, and tires are also available.
The KAMM 912c is totally road legal, well, at least it is in Europe anyways. It tips the scales at an astonishing lightweight 750 kg (1,653 lbs).
Power is derived from a 2.0 4-cylinder JPS Aircooled 616 engine that produces 190 horses with a peak torque of 228 Nm (168 lb-ft). It has the highest bhp per liter of any air-cooled street engine, offering 95 hp per liter. To put the number in perspective, the Porsche 2.2S has 82 bhp per liter and the 2.7 RS has 78 bhp per liter.
The list of enhancements is long and drool-worthy but it may not be for the purists. But for everyone else who appreciates a classic-looking Porsche that can keep up with the modern world, expect to find a long list of features including a fully restored 912 with reinforced body and chassis, TracTive-based KAMM semi-active coilover front and rear suspension, AP Racing brakes all-around, bespoke stainless exhaust system, a 901 5-speed with dogleg gate pattern gear, ZF LSD, and KAMM bespoke carbon fiber seats – just to name a few. What we have listed barely scratches the surface.
The 2023 KAMM 912c is available to buy now in Europe priced at €360,000 (about US$391,280) which includes a donor 912. You can also choose to use your own 912 for conversion, which is then priced at €320,000 (approximately US$347,750).
