More often than not, the tech we see on sci-fi TV series, movies, or video games is, well, fictional stuff. Dnsys and Kojima Productions, however, did not get the memo. The video game developer behind Death Stranding and the exoskeleton maker are bringing an artifact of the future into reality: the Dnsys Z1 Exoskeleton Pro, Limited Edition. That’s right, folks. Like Sam Porter Bridges, you will soon be able to wear a powered leg exoskeleton for your porter duties—or maybe just wandering the rocky trails of Angels Landing.

With the Dnsys Z1 Exoskeleton Pro – DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH Limited Edition, you get Shinkawa’s signature aesthetic engineered for real-world support and comfort. It’s a rare opportunity to not just own, but actually wear a piece of the game that has real functionality. The special version of Dnsys’ exoskeleton was co-designed with Kojima Productions’ art director Yoji Shinkawa—the first-ever collab between the game developer and the exoskeleton maker.

While you won’t need to dodge hostiles like Higgs or navigate shifting terrain on this side of the void, the Dnsys Z1 Exoskeleton Pro will give you the boost you need for outdoor adventures. When equipped, it offers an extended hiking range of 15.5 miles (25 km) and vertical climbing assistance of 9.3 miles (15 km). It provides powered support that makes you feel up to 44 lbs (20 kg) lighter instantly, delivers 50% extra power to your steps, features intelligent gait control across trails, stairs, and slopes, and can offload up to 200% of your body weight from the knees.

It’s battery-powered, offering over 4 hours of continuous support on a single quick-swappable battery. Beyond the game-inspired aesthetic, it even has game-style lights to indicate battery level and operational status. The device is super lightweight at just 680 g per leg, and super portable, folding down to the size of an iPad mini for easy transport. The onboard motor delivers a peak torque of 900 W, and the aluminum alloy, titanium alloy, and carbon fiber construction is rated IP54. It won’t survive Timefall, but it’ll shrug off earthly drizzle just fine.

The Dnsys Z1 Exoskeleton Pro – DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH Limited Edition will be released on December 02, 2025, at 8 AM Eastern Standard Time, for a yet-to-be-revealed price. Meanwhile, you can take a shot at winning one. Three lucky winners who follow the instructions on Dnsys’ blog will receive a unit.
