It is not often that a novel from recent years gets adapted into a movie, let alone having a toy based on the movie before it is even out. Project Hail Mary, by author Andy Weir, is one such novel that is getting both a movie adaptation and a LEGO set for the movie, too.

Based on the spaceship’s depiction in the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios film, the LEGO Icons Project Hail Mary (11389) Building Set uses 830 pieces to recreate the spaceship that Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) travels in to reach the Tau Ceti star system, 11.9 light-years away. This microscale replica measures 30 cm (12 inches) tall, 25 cm (9.5 inches) long, and 22 cm (8.5 inches) wide.
The model features a crank that, when turned, sends the crew module into orbit, simulating the centrifugal gravity system seen in the movie. The set also includes a buildable base—an impressively solid-looking one, if I may add—complete with a plaque detailing the spaceship’s mission. The base has dedicated spaces for the included figures: a Ryland Grace minifigure and, spoiler alert, a Rocky figure.
There is more. The base also features a detachable section with an element simulating the transparent rocky barrier separating Ryland and the alien engineer from the planet Erid, Rocky.
The LEGO Icons Project Hail Mary (11389) Building Set is available for pre-order now for US$99.99, with shipping starting March 01, 2026.
