Well, what do you know? Just when you thought LEGO had given all Formula 1 cars the brick treatment—including the race car from the fictional team in the movie—there is another one. However, this time, it is also based on an actual race car, the newly unveiled F1 ACADEMY. The F1 ACADEMY will wear a new livery, LEGO Racing, starting in the 2026 season, with Esmee Kosterman as the LEGO Racing driver behind the wheel.

This new partnership between LEGO and F1 ACADEMY is a pretty big deal in the motorsport toy world. Not only does it slap LEGO Racing onto a real open-wheeler for the 2026 grid, but it also brings its first official set from the partnership: the LEGO Speed Champions F1 ACADEMY LEGO Race Car (77258). The car brings the livery to life in brick form, right down to the #32 racing number worn by Kosterman, who enters her first full F1 ACADEMY season next year.
The 201-piece set captures the aerodynamic look and feel of the real-world racer with a unique colorway designed by LEGO designers Beatrice Amoretti and Maria Jędryszek. The model measures over 4 cm high (1.5 inches), 7 cm wide (2.5 inches), and 18 cm long (7 inches). To complete the package, you get a minifigure in a LEGO Racing suit printed in the same colorway as the full-size car.
The real F1 ACADEMY initiative continues to push representation, with 87 percent of girls surveyed saying they want more women in motorsport. LEGO and F1 ACADEMY aim to give them a proper nudge in that direction, both on track and on the toy shelf. Even the podium finishers during the Las Vegas event received LEGO Botanicals Bouquets built from nearly 2,000 pieces. How’s that for a trophy?
The LEGO Speed Champions F1 ACADEMY LEGO Race Car is available for pre-order now and will hit shelves on March 1, 2026, for US$27.99.
