Space nerds, we bring good news! LEGO has just listed a new space-themed set inspired by the real-life Lunar Outpost vehicles designed for humanity’s return to the Moon. It is as exciting as it sounds for grown-ups, even though the LEGO Technic Lunar Outpost Moon Rover Space Vehicle (42211) is designed for ages 10 and up.
Using 1,082 Technic elements, LEGO realized the Lunar Outpost Moon Rover Space Vehicle, which includes the Moon rover, mining rover, and MAPP rover.
The star of the set is a chunky all-terrain Moon rover with 4-wheel steering, rocker suspension, deployable solar panels, and a rotating arm that lifts the mini mining rover like it’s part of a Moon-based pit crew. There’s even a sample container for the included lunar rock elements, so you can pretend you’re scooping space dust with a mission-critical scoop.
And yes, it also includes a little MAPP rover to help you scout the terrain—or at least roll around your living room looking very official. When completed, the main Moon rover measures over 5 in. (13 cm) high, 12 in. (31 cm) long, and 7.5 in. (19 cm) wide.
