Limited Edition BRABUS 1300 R Naked Bike

BRABUS and two-wheeled vehicles. The two do not have any association… until now. Because there is a BRABUS motorcycle now. That’s right. The premiere aftermarket tuner for Mercedes-Benz now has its very own motorcycle too.

I know right. It is hard to imagine. I mean, what do BRABUS knows about making bikes right? On its own, probably not a lot. But here’s the thing. BRABUS has a partner: KTM.

The BRABUS 1300 R, as it is called, is based on the new KTM 1290 Super Duke R Evo. So, there is no need to start from scratch. The 1300 R is basically a souped-up Super Duke R Evo and a very good-looking one because it is naked and has a generous amount of carbon fiber.

It has been so seriously “souped-up” that it vaguely looked like its original form. Almost every exterior part that can be modded or replaced is modded or replaced entirely.

Offered in two distinct color schemes – MAGMA RED and SIGNATURE BLACK – the Brabus 1300 R is powered by the same 1,301cc big block engine, a V-Twin engine – that develops a ferocious 180 HP and turns out an impressive 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) of torque.

This number enables it to rocket from standstill to 60 mph in mere 3.2 seconds, sending it on its way to a max speed of 170 miles an hour (270 km/h).

Some of the Brabus performance touches include lightweight Monoblock Z 9-spoked forged wheels, WP APEX semi-active suspension, Brembo brakes, BRABUS slip-on double-pipe exhaust, and Brabus CNC-machined adjustable footpegs, reservoir, and oil tank caps.

The bike further boasts a host of BRABUS carbon fiber parts – including the air intakes, a distinctive round LED headlight on an aerodynamic headlight mask, a bespoke heated seat, heated grips, keyless ignition for keyless start system which also controls the fuel cap, and a scratch and glare resistant, tilt angle adjustable 5-inch TFT display with custom BRABUS start-up animation.

Limited to just 154, or 77 units of each color scheme, Limited Edition BRABUS 1300 R Naked Bike was opened for pre-order on February 14. Unfortunately, though, all 154 units were promptly snapped up. But fret not you can get on the waiting list.
