I am sure we are all familiar with the iconic yellow rubber chicken that screams when you squeeze its belly. I bet no one has ever imagined that one day this concept would lend itself to the world’s most famous radioactive kaiju, Godzilla.
Folks, this is the Godzilla: Roaring! Rubber Godzilla from MaxLimited. It comes in two designs: Shin Godzilla and the Second Form, a.k.a. Kamata-kun. The latter is Shin Godzilla’s initial terrestrial stage as it slithers ashore at Kamata. I suggest you do not search for the video of this creature because, to be honest, it is not for the squeamish. It is pretty grotesque despite its nickname.
Anyhoo, both designs do the same thing: they will unleash a mighty roar when you squeeze their bellies. It’s basically the rubber chicken but in Godzilla form, which looks kind of comical, especially with the gaping mouth. Lol. In addition, they apparently roar instead of screaming when squeezed at the belly.
The toy measures about 35 cm long. You can find Godzilla: Roaring! Rubber Godzilla is being sold in a box of 10 (2 types x 5P each) for 22,000 yen [JP] (~US$139), which works out to be 2,200 yen (US$13.90) apiece. I don’t see an option to buy a single set.
Well, Godzilla fans, I think it’s time to organize a group buy—unless you have the desire to own 10 of them.
