when the MINI Paceman concept made its debut two years ago, we didn’t think it was going to come to fruition but it did and two years on, not only Paceman is reality, it now has a John Cooper Works variant to its name. the MINI John Cooper Works Paceman will make its way into the showroom in March 2013 with an yet to be determined price. this upsized Copper is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder unit that pumps out 218 horses (160 kW) with a peak torque of 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) and thanks to its overboost function, this peak torque can be temporarily bump up to 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) for a more exhilarating motoring experience. together with a six-speed gearbox (a six-speed automatic will be available as an option), the JCW Paceman is capable of making a century sprint in just 6.9 seconds and yet, returning an average fuel consumption of 7.4 liters per 100 kilometers or 38.2 mpg.

other highlights include ALL4 all-wheel drive system, an striking and functional aerodynamic kit, humongous 18-inch light alloy wheels (if that’s not enough, 19-inch is on the option palate too) and slammed ride height with lowered sports suspension kit. moving on to the interior is a customary race-inspired setup including dark-colored dials marking its 260 km/h (160 mph) top speed, anthracite roof liner and generous serving contrasting red stitching on its sports steering wheel, gear shift lever gaiter, floor mats as well as its cloth seats in Diagonal Track John Cooper Worker Carbon Black trim. and since it is a JCW flavored MINI, you will find yourself greeted with the JCW logos in and around the vehicle such as the radiator grille, tailgate and door sill strips as well as next to the side indicators. before hitting the market in March next year, the MINI John Cooper Works Paceman will make its world premiere first at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in January 2013. check out a small gallery of the extreme sports edition of the Paceman after the break.
