Mitsubishi D:X Concept at Japan Mobility Show

Mitsubishi Delica is a versatile transporter that has been in production since 1968. Delica, for those who don’t know, is a portmanteau of ‘Delivery’ and ‘Car’. It has both pickup truck and van variants. You don’t need Mitsubishi to tell you that it is a Delica of the future because the Delica vibes are strong with this one. However, this is now a workhorse like its forebears, neither is it a Kei car.

The Mitsubishi D:X Concept, as it is referred to, is a minivan, or as the rest of the world calls it, a multipurpose van, or MPV. Debuted at the recent Japan Mobility Show, it is an electrified crossover MPV that offers the spaciousness of an MPV but with the handling of an SUV.

The concept vehicle combines Mitsubishi’s electrification and all-wheel control technologies and is designed to support an active and adventurous mobility lifestyle. It offers a spacious and safe cabin, unique design elements, and advanced features such as a voice-interactive AI concierge and a new-generation sound system. The concept vehicle aims to provide a sense of adventure and reliability for various activities.

It is not an EV, btw. It is a PHEV, which I thought was a step in the right direction because your adventure shouldn’t come with battery anxiety. While so, it does leverage the electric drive to provide it with electric 4WD through the integration of S-AWC.
